Dave Grohl ha creado el   súper grupo llamado Sound City Players, con motivo del estreno en el Festival de Sundance del documental sobre los estudios Sound City dirigodo por Dave Grohl. Actuaron en  el Park City de Utah. Por allí han pasado John Fogerty, Stevie Nicks, Rick Springfield, Brad Wilk de Rage Against the Machine, Rick Nielsen de Cheap Trick, Kirst Novoselic y Pat Smear de Nirvana; Chris Shiflett, Taylor Hawkins y Nate Mendel de Foo Fighters; Corey Taylor de Slipknot, Chris Goss, Alain Johannes (Queens of the Stone Age), Lee Ving (Fear), Rami Jaffee (The Wallflowers) y Jessy Greene (Geraldine Fibbers).
