Entrevista a Drunken Monkees

Una banda en Madrid con corazón de banda británica/americana, sangre nueva y mucho talento:

-¿Cómo empezasteis en esto?

Drunken Monkees started its life back in 2003 spawned out of the back alleys of Bangkok. During the past years Drunken Monkees has had many faces and styles but has always tried to maintain a fun energetic show showcasing ballsy in your face music with strong melodys, hard hitting choruses and a tight musical back bone. Founded originally by former Hong Kong actor/stuntman and now lead singer Ricardo Alexander.

-¿Porqué ese nombre?

Growing up i was obsessed with martial arts and martial arts movies! so when it was time to give the band a name i decieded to choose a name based around my martial arts and Hong Kong background. So "Drunken Monkees" was born named after a Jacky Chan fighting style

-¿Anécdotas?

-Háblame del disco

The cd was recorded in Madrid at "Spaceland" studio and produced by Rob Green and Rob Thornburn. We decieded to record with these guys due to them being American and also because they understood the raw energy we were trying to capture.

-¿Dónde os tratan mejor en Madrid o fuera?

Sorry to say but the treatment of musicians in Madrid is the worst i have ever known. The bars have no interest in music and refuse to help promote up and coming bands! It seems in Spain there is no real underground or independent music scene.....here people seem to believe if your not in the pop charts then your not a real band or musician.

• -Tienes una tiendaI opened a clothes store to have another interest and  income whist not  playing with the band. Our clothing is all imported and branded from the UK and USA.
